MUSSOORIE UPDATE: Planning a trip to Mussoorie? Don’t forget — tourist registration is now mandatory!

 As per the new directive by the Uttarakhand Tourism Department, all tourists must register their details through an official portal at the time of check-in. This will be done by your hotel, guest house, or homestay.

Why the Rule?

To manage the rising crowd and traffic congestion — tourist footfall has nearly doubled between 2022 and 2024

Effective From: Wednesday (now in action)

Who Will Register:  Hotels, guest houses & homestays during check-in

Purpose: Crowd control, smooth traffic, and enhanced visitor experience
